Mi casa es Dragon Casa

So, I saw this restaurant on Facebook. One of those random reels that pops up. Granted, I just recently got back on Facebook as well, so I am surprised it showed up. Anyways, this place really intrigued me. I love a good fusion. Shout out to the restaurant Cris & Jon up in North Dallas - I will do a retrospective post on them as well - but they really pulled me into the fusion restaurants. Dragon Casa is similar but holds a place of its own.

When walking into the restaurant it seems larger from the outside than when you get in. The decor is great. The atmosphere has a street food vibe. The staff welcoming. They are quick to seat and attentive. Luckily, after scanning the menu once I had an idea of what I wanted. I first tried to get the Birria Egg Rolls but they were unable today. I changed things up and got a Hot & Sour soup along with the Dumping Sampler (2 ea: pork, chicken, seafood, and vegetable). The soup came out quick and was fantastic. I recently learned I really, really like Hot & Sour soup and this one stood out. Loaded with mushrooms and tofu. It was great. Then the Dumpling Sampler came. There were 8 and each was stuffed with filling.

I started with the vegetable dumplings. They were delicious. I am not usually one to order something straight veggie but these I would get again. I am not sure what all was in them but it tasted like some seaweed or kale along with onions and mushrooms. Paired with their ‘dumpling sauce’ was a perfect match. Next, came the seafood dumplings. These, were okay. I believe it was imitation crab and it tasted as such. It was a bit chewy as well but were still tasty. They were not my cup of tea but still great. Third, were the chicken dumplings. They were seasoned beautifully. I believe it was minced chicken with green onions. Simple but delicious. Lastly, my favorite, the pork dumplings. These were simple as well but their seasonings are spot on. The pork was cooked perfectly. White onions complimented it extremely well. All and all a great sampler and gave a taste of everything.

They also have some of what they are known for, the Chino-Mexican fusion. For this I will absolutely be back. I would love to try the Birria Egg Rolls, Birria Fried Rice, Birria Noodle Soup, etc. As you can tell, I am big birria fan. But before I ramble on too much longer, I just want to thank Dragon Casa for doing something amazing. Something that I believe most all people will enjoy. I can’t wait to try more and I will absolutely be back!
