Bankhead Brewpub
Of course I love a good craft beer, but what makes this place even more special is their selection of good eats. When visiting for my first time, I went for brunch. I highly suggest it. They have a separate brunch menu which is only during the weekend at select times. Oddly enough, I have been into the building as it was the same location the previous Cedar Creek Brewery occupied but the interior is completely different. They did an amazing job with the aesthetic. It has a real speakeasy vibe, the bar is gorgeous and there is even upstairs seating.
I couldn’t decide what to get so I asked for a few recommendations. The two I chose from were the Chilian Sea Bass Tacos or their Texas Benedict. I had to go for the Texas Benedict - poached eggs over some amazing cornbread, topped with some delicious brisket. Along side this was some home potatoes. All of it was spectacular. The eggs cooked beautifully. The brisket on top worked incredibly well with the potatoes and the cornbread. I could have probably eaten a whole additional order but I decided not to do so.
For a drink, I will say, I am an IPA person. I had their Wheels Off west coast IPA to start. It was a tasty IPA, not too hoppy and not too fruity. Very drinkable and piney. The second I had was their Off the Map IPA. This was my favorite. Notes of mango, pineapple, citrus and pine made it go down extremely easy. Both went well with the food too. Was a good mix. I cannot stress enough how good this place was. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere are all top tier. I hope this place stays around for a long time and many, many more people get to try it.
